ISG 2015:16

The 2015/16 edition of John Catt’s Guide to International Schools is now available and currently being distributed around the world.

This authoritative guidebook, available in print and eBook, includes details of more than 3,000 international schools and profiles of more than 100 leading schools. It is the ideal reference point for families seeking an international school in any part of the world.

The 13th edition features a foreword by Dr Nicholas Tate, former director-general of the International School of Geneva and International Baccalaureate governor from 2009-2015.

It also includes contact details of international school groups and associations, information on international curricula, examinations and tests, and explanations of education systems in each country, with Ministry of Education contact details.

To coincide with the release of the new edition, we have also relaunched http://www.internationalschoolsearch.com to making searching for an international easier than ever – and to provide the best possible platform for profiled schools. We will also be posting editorial articles from the guide on the website.

We are delighted to announce that we have relaunched www.schoolsearch.co.uk This website is a companion to our prestigious and long-standing school guidebooks, Which School?, Which London School? & the South-East and John Catt’s Guide to Preparatory Schools.

www.schoolsearch.co.uk homepage

Just like our guidebooks, schoolsearch.co.uk aims to guide parents and their children through the process of choosing the right school. Schoolsearch.co.uk provides details of nearly 2,000 independent schools in the UK. You will find basic, essential details of every independent school and college – and enhanced profiles of leading schools. Schools now have the option of adding videos and Twitter feeds to their profiles.

We understand that searching for the right school can be stressful, which is why we have made searching for appropriate schools as efficient as possible. The search function allows parents to search for schools with ease by selecting a set region or radius from a postcode, which then displays schools within the desired location on an interactive map. The map allows for parents to quick view information about each school, or scroll down to view the schools in a concise list. Schools can also be searched for by gender, age, day/boarding.

The website is updated regularly with insightful editorials from schools, organisations and leading figures in the independent school sector. We hope that these will offer parents advice, and help them make an informed decision about what school is best for their child.

WLS14_15Cover-web

We are very pleased to announce the publication of the 2014/15 edition of Which London School? and the South-East.

It is the 25th edition of this guidebook, which provides information on more than 1,500 schools in the Greater London and surrounding area.

We have given the guide a fresh look this year, in line with our stable of guidebooks, and this means we are able to display the copy and images of profiling schools better than ever before.

Copies of the book will soon be arriving with schools, as well as distributed to key reference points – including educational libraries, HR departments and embassies – for families as they search for the right school for their children.

What is particularly pleasing this year is the excellent editorial on offer in this edition. I was delighted to receive excellent pieces from Neil Chippington at St Paul’s Cathedral School; Louise Simpson at Bromley High School; Mark Steed at Berkhamsted School; Jo Glen at Dolphin School; Stella Ottewill at the St Michael Steiner School; Simon Smith at Haileybury; and Simon Hitchings, of Swanbourne House School.

I will be placing many of these articles online in the next few weeks, and they are well worth a read, sharing the benefit of vast experience and raising topics that will interest anyone connected to independent schools.

If you would like to order a copy of Which London School? & the South-East, please visit our bookshop. For any other enquiries about this guide or any other of our publications, please email us at enquiries@johncatt.com.
