Gap-year guidebook 2015

We are delighted to announce the publication of the gap-year guidebook 2015. This popular guidebook is now in its 23rd year and provides information, help and advice for anyone considering taking time out to spend travelling, working, volunteering or studying at home or abroad. The guide employs an unbiased view on travel, and aims to inspire and encourage gappers to pursue a gap-year that suits their interests, lifestyle and travel ambitions.

The guide provides explorers with all the information they need to plan, prepare and make the most of their gap-year and is arranged in 11 concise chapters that cover the topics surrounding health, finance, tips, travelling, accommodation, career breaks, mature gappers, working abroad, volunteering abroad, learning abroad, sport and also 3 chapters that focus on volunteering and learning in the UK.

The guide also contains a 143 page company directory that reflects the topic of each chapter, and provides direct links and contacts to aid gappers travel arrangements.

The new edition features 20 exciting accounts from gappers who have taken time out to pursue their ambitions and interests, some of which have pursued voluntary work with elephants in South Africa, carried out a teaching placement in Costa Rica, became a qualified ski-instructor in Canada and studied Portuguese in Lisbon.

We will also shortly be relaunching www.gap-year.com This is an extremely exciting project, which will see the addition of a blog that publishes travel news, case studies, supporter Q&As and an online company directory. More news will follow shortly.
