Learning and Teaching about Islam

John Catt’s managing director Jonathan Evans is preparing to fly to Amman, Jordan, for the annual conference of the British Schools in the Middle East (BSME) organisation.

The conference takes place from February 5-8 and brings together school leaders from across the region. It features business sessions and speakers including Ian Livingstone, Professor John West-Burnham and David Hargreaves.

If you are attending the conference, please look out for Jonathan on the John Catt exhibition stand. We will be promoting some of our new publications, including Learning and Teaching about Islam: Essays in Understanding (above), edited by Dr Caroline Ellwood, and Taking the International Primary Curriculum Forward.

We are pleased to be associate members of BSME, which is one of the largest organisations for British Curriculum schools in the world, with over 70 member schools educating over 60,000 children in 13 countries and employing over 5,000 teachers.
