The team had a very busy few days in Lisbon at the ECIS Autumn conference – out of bed early, back in bed late – but it was, of course, a thoroughly rewarding experience; a great place to meet new people and to catch up with old friends. We visited a couple of the delightful local restaurants – with some of us being braver than others – and tried to take in the charm of the city when we had a few minutes to spare. On Saturday evening we were joined by a selection of our editors, authors and contributors for a lovely last supper on the docks. We left Lisbon very full and very contented, only to sit in the airport for a few more hours than planned due to fog in London.

Having celebrated the 30th anniversary of the International Schools Journal, and keen to increase the awareness of is magazine, the opportunity was invaluable; moreover it provided a fantastic footing for our lastest venture with Mary Hayden & Jeff Thompson, Taking the IB Diploma Programme Forward.

Please remember that a free hard copy of the ISJ is available to all ECIS members from the John Catt Bookshop, as well as, of course, all our other publications.
